Stock Market Summary 31.12.11

Yesterday’s market action was positive.

Although the indexes did end the day in the red, losses were minor and volume did come in on the tame side.

It was good to see the week ending with the Nasdaq above the 2600 level and the S&P 600 above its 200 day moving average.

It was also good to see leading stocks performing extremely well, with the ones pulling back doing so on tame volume. Plus when comparing buying versus selling, a greater number of leading stocks experienced buying. On a market down day, when more leading equities rise than ones that fall, it signifies underlying strength and should be seen as a bullish divergence.

In summary even though the indexes did pull back slightly, the market rally does appear to be back on track.

Until the next time my friend.
